<new> How do you deal with writer’s block?

May 31, 2024
When I encounter writer’s block, my approach is simple yet effective: I start writing. It doesn’t matter what I write; I aim to get my fingers moving on the keyboard. I let go of any expectations or judgments about the quality or relevance of my writing and allow my thoughts to flow freely. Whether it’s a stream of consciousness, random words, or even a description of my surroundings, I just keep writing. This process often helps to clear the mental clutter and allows new ideas to surface. Eventually, a spark of inspiration will hit, and my writing takes off from there. It’s all about breaking through that initial barrier and trusting the creative process to guide me forward.

<Update> What are you currently working on?

May 31, 2024
I’m excited to share that recently I've been working on a writing journal as a complement to my short story, "The Legend of Sun and Moon." "Sun and Moon Memoir: Legends in the Making" is an enchanting journal featuring short legends of the Sun and Moon, beautifully intertwined with delicate illustrations of suns, moons, and celestial motifs.

This journal invites you to capture your daily musings, creative inspirations, and cherished memories. Whether you're using it for creative writing, self-discovery, or storytelling, this journal is designed to be a treasured companion on your journey.

I expect to publish "Sun and Moon Memoir: Legends in the Making" within the next week. Stay tuned for more updates. I can't wait for you to experience the magic of this new journal!

I’m currently focused on editing the first novel of my series, which follows the short story prelude, “The Legend of Sun and Moon.” This project has truly been a labor of love for me. Over time, I’ve meticulously developed the storyline across what could be roughly six books, each at various stages of drafting. At present, the first and second books are nearing their final drafts, and my primary focus is on polishing the first for publication. Delving into the editing process is an exhilarating phase as I fine-tune the narrative to bring it to readers soon. It’s an exciting journey, and I can’t wait to share this world with others.

How do you get inspired to write?

April 20, 2024
I find inspiration to write in everything around me—it’s a constant presence in my life. This hasn’t always been the case, but when I discovered the joy of writing, it consumed me entirely. Whether it’s the beauty of nature, the complexities of human emotions, or simply the rhythm of everyday life, there’s always something stirring my imagination. I often find myself struggling to focus on other tasks because the desire to write is so strong. It’s not just a hobby or a passion; it’s a fundamental part of who I am and who I’ve become. The urge to put pen to paper (or fingertips to keyboard) is ever-present, driving me to explore new ideas, express my thoughts, and create worlds of my own making.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

April 13, 2024
The best thing about being a writer is the freedom to escape into my own world whenever I pick up a pen or sit at my keyboard. Writing serves as a sanctuary, offering respite from life’s stresses and challenges. It’s more than just a creative outlet—it’s a means to express my deepest emotions and thoughts. When life presents hurdles or emotions run high, diving into the realms of fantasy in my mind provides a therapeutic release. Crafting stories allows me to explore new perspectives, navigate complex feelings, and ultimately find solace in the act of creation.

If you could travel to any fictional book world, where would you go and what would you do there?

April 6, 2024
I would journey to Pandora without hesitation. The lush, vibrant world and the unique culture of the Na’vi have always fascinated me. Immersing myself in their way of life, learning their customs, and understanding their deep connection with nature would be a dream come true. One of my ultimate goals would be to bond with and fly on the back of an ikran, experiencing the exhilaration and freedom that comes with it. Exploring the bioluminescent forests, connecting with the wildlife, and perhaps even joining in their spiritual ceremonies would make for an unforgettable adventure. Pandora’s beauty and the profound wisdom of its inhabitants would surely leave a lasting impact on me.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

March 29, 2024
I drew inspiration for my most recent short story, “The Legend of Sun and Moon,” from my Native American heritage and deep connection to the moon. Growing up, I was captivated by origin stories and creation legends, which resonate strongly within my culture. Being an avid reader of fantasy and romance novels, I decided to weave these elements into my own narrative.

As I delved into writing my first novel, I realized that the enchanting characters I created deserved an origin story of their own. “The Legend of Sun and Moon” emerged as a prelude, offering readers a glimpse into the rich backstory that shaped the world of my upcoming novel.

Through this journey, I've explored themes of love, magic, and destiny, weaving them into what I hope readers will find as an enchanting narrative of adventure and romance. I'm excited to share this imaginative world with readers, offering them a glimpse into the origins of cherished characters and the captivating universe they inhabit.

How did your writing journey begin?

It all began about five years ago as a means for me to express emotions through written words. 📝 I embarked on authoring a novel, which at the time was titled ❤️Heart of Sun ☀️. Writing became my sanctuary, allowing me to translate inner feelings into captivating narratives. Although it’s a work of fiction, the emotions portrayed in the novel reflect the very emotions I experienced at that time. Through writing🖋️, I’ve found not just a medium for self-expression, but also a canvas to paint 🎨 intricate tales that resonate with readers on emotional and imaginative levels. 🚀 As a Native American, I have a deeply rooted love for origin stories 🌿 This cultural influence seamlessly intertwined with my creative process. As I delved deeper into Heart of Sun, I realized the potential to craft an origin story for the fantastical world I envisioned. Thus, the short story, The Legend of Sun and Moon, was born. 📜☀️️🌙

Thank you for joining me on this journey of creativity and storytelling. I’m excited to share more insights and adventures with all of you! 💫
