The Five Guardian Bonds: The Sacred Ties

Each guardian bond ties two souls together in an unbreakable connection—some for a lifetime, others for eternity.
🌙 Bonds of Love – The most sacred of all, these bonds tether the hearts, bodies, minds, souls, and spirits of those who share them. Some are consecrated in friendship, others sanctified in romance, but once forged, they leave an undeniable mark on those bonded by them.
🦾 Bonds of Strength – A bond of pure necessity. Guardians must sustain themselves through the vitality of others, and these bonds ensure their survival. Some are fleeting, others enduring, but without them, a guardian will waste away.
👁️ Bonds of Wisdom – The tether of strategy and battle. These bonds connect guardians within the same hierarchy, creating a seamless flow of thoughts, instincts, and shared awareness in combat.
⚔️ Bonds of Courage – The protector’s bond, forged between a guardian and their charge. It is an unyielding promise of safety—often unseen, but always present. The strength of this bond determines whether a guardian can sense danger, feel pain, or even save a life in an instant.
🌀 Bonds of Faith – The rarest and most mysterious of all. These bonds transcend the physical and bind guardians to divine purpose, celestial bloodlines, or eternity itself.
⚔️The Bonds of Courage: A Guardian’s Vow
(Deep Dive)
Created by Moon, himself, the Bonds of Courage are the lifeline between a guardian and their charge. More than duty, these bonds allow protectors to sense, feel, and respond to their charge’s distress, making them the ultimate shield between life and death.
Moon bestowed a unique Gift of Protection upon brave guardians for each Sacred Virtue:
💖 Love – Grants the ability to sense fear in their charge.
💪 Strength – Allows them to feel their physical pain.
🧠 Wisdom – Enables them to hear their cries for help.
🔥 Courage – Gives them the power to sense their lifeforce, knowing the instant it begins to fade.
✨ Faith – Allows them to orb to their charge when they are in danger, no matter the distance.
For a knight like Jarod, his Bond of Courage with Azalea is more than a duty—it is an unshakable chain, one that refuses to break, no matter how much his heart aches.
He can sense the fear she won’t speak aloud. Feel the pain she tries to hide. Hear the silent cries she keeps buried.
And if she is ever in danger? Nothing in the world can keep him from reaching her. But there’s one thing this bond cannot do—it cannot make her choose him.
The Council of Regents & The Queen's Knight
👑 The Highest Guardian Authority: The Council of Regents
Before the Orders of the Guard, before the ranks, there were the nine Deities—the first Guardians, celestial beings who descended from the cosmos to protect Earth and her people. But in their absence, power rests with the Council of Regents, the sovereign authority over all Guardians, ensuring that those who thrive due to the gifts from Sun and Moon uphold their sacred duty.
But within the Guard, one figure stands above all others.
⚜️ The Grand Knight: The Queen’s Guardian & Leader of the Orders of the Guard
At the very top of the hierarchy sits the Grand Knight—the supreme leader of the Guard, responsible for every Order, every Guardian soldier, and every Quadrasphere. This position is tied directly to the Queen, and when present, he holds absolute authority over the battlefield.
In his absence, the Grand Marshals command the Quadraspheres, overseeing all three Orders of the Guard.
🌙 The Creator of the Guard: Arrod, the Queen’s Knight
Those who know the truth behind the Orders of the Guard’s origins speak of one name: Arrod.
It was he whom the Deities tasked with forging Earth’s divine barrier against darkness. It was he who shaped the Orders of the Guard, ensuring that every human had a Guardian to protect them.
Now, his legacy lives on in every Knight who forges their bond, every Warrior who defends a city, and every Elite who takes up their weapons against the darkness.
But even the most legendary legacy can be distorted, forgotten, or rewritten. The Guard is strong, but the Noctareans are stronger than ever.
Will the Bonds of Courage that once held them together be enough?
🔥 A Secret Bond Shrouded in Myth
Among the Bonds of Courage, there is one that almost no one knows of: Dyfirion (dye-FEAR-ee-uhn)—an eternal bond between the Queen and her Knight. Unlike the Warriors’ ephemeral Defyros or the Knights’ enduring Deythar, this bond is only known in whispers—its full power is a mystery to most.
The Orders of the Guard
The Guard stands as Earth’s greatest defense against the Noctarean threat. But who holds power among them? How were they established? And what secrets lie within their ranks—secrets even some Guardians don’t know?
While all Guardians pledge to protect Earth, not all serve in the same way—and not all serve within the Guard. Only the strongest and most formidable Guardians make the cut.
🛡️ The Guard is divided into three distinct Orders, each serving a unique purpose.
🗡️ Order of Knights – Personal Protection
The Knights serve as the ultimate defenders of key figures in society, known as Radiant Charges. A Knight may protect only one Radiant Charge—a person deemed essential to humankind, such as Nobel Peace Prize laureates, world leaders, medical prodigies, and other visionaries shaping Earth’s future.
However, others close to these figures also require protection due to the heightened risk posed by Noctareans.
These individuals are classified as:
• Luminous Charges – Those close to Radiant Charges (family, friends, etc.). A Knight may protect up to three.
• Glowing Charges – Individuals in moderate danger. A Knight may protect up to twelve.
Regardless of the charge’s classification, Knights forge an enduring Bond of Courage known as Deythar (DAY-thar), which lasts the entirety of the charge’s lifetime. This bond ensures an unbreakable connection—one that can only be severed by a Bond Harmonizer.
⚔️ Order of Warriors – Regional Defenders
Unlike the deep, personal bonds of the Knights, the Warriors defend entire populations. The Deythar bond would be too consuming for such vast protection, so Moon modified the Bond of Courage, creating Defyros (de-FYE-rohs)—an ephemeral connection allowing Warriors to shield entire cities, states, or regions.
While Knights forge lifelong connections, Warriors’ bonds are only active while on duty—a difference that has shaped the culture of the Guard itself.
🏹 Order of the Elite – The Hunters
Then there are the Elite. They do not guard. They do not protect. They hunt.
Their mission is clear: seek out Noctareans, eliminate threats, and neutralize dangers before they arise. Only the most ruthless and skilled Guardians may enter their ranks.
